It was clear once Biden was elected that war would start - but who'd have guessed it would be on multiple fronts?

I’ve been looking into the hospital bombing situation. There were apparently posts from Israeli-affiliated accounts on Twitter and Facebook saying they had bombed a terrorist base in a hospital that were deleted after the true scale of the carnage came out. I haven’t seen any reporting on these though so they could be fake, and a lot of the evidence shown so far of the explosion being caused by a propellant fire from an errant rocket seems believable, but it’s still too early to tell. A genuinely horrible tragedy either way that people will try to exploit.

One thing about the refugees is that once they actually leave Israel has the chance to take all the empty land. I do think there is more to "Palis can't leave because Jordan and Egypt don't want them". If 1 million people leave Gaza that means the end of any chance of there being any Palestinian state. I think that's why people on the Right in America( Nikki Haley) have recently called for refugees to be relocated in America even.

In this conflict, Israelis win because their ethnostate gets more secure demographically and geographically, Islam wins because more of its faithful soldiers move to infidel lands, and Europe wins because it gets even more diverse. Win, win, win!

"This is not to say that this two-front conflict will happen, but it does indicate that the Americans are now concerned about, which is funny as they are the cause of this very same condition."

It indicates to me they're planning to launch a war one way or another. Global supremacy at all costs.

"...its stated responsibility to protect Israel...."

First action: Restate America's responsibility.

Long past time for America to focus on America.

This is like a relationship with an abusive, manipulative, violent, ex-spouse.

We've given her half our pension, paid alimony, and child support for 60 years.

Time to cut her loose. Let her suffer the consequences of her bad attitude, bad decisions, arrogance, and violent nature.

America has other fish to fry--like dealing with an invasion, our culture crumbled, our people crippled by addiction and insanity, overwhelming debt, crushing taxation, vanished manufacturing economy, and worse.

We owe nothing to any foreign country.

We have no responsibility to protect Israel. Or any other foreign country.

America First.

Israel is morally wrong!

I wonder why China and Russia are being so "calm" about this.

They could put pressure on the USA and Israel by calling for humanitarian rights.

It's pretty callous and makes me question their sanity

I think Cornell, Penn, Harvard et al should house as many refugees as they can fit on campus. Lord knows they have the endowments to do so in high comfort, and doing would give those schools something they are currently missing--namely, a purpose.

It will be interesting to see how such dynamic and visceral external pressures either unite or further fracture the US. I suspect fracture.

No way! Not sayin' nothin' about Gaza. Nothing I can say will matter, and venting my angry, vehement opinions and preferences will do nothing and won't even make me feel good, it will just make me feel more sick about the whole loathsome thing. We may be living in weeks where decades happen. The fate of the world seems to be up in the air at the moment. All commentary and opinion will be obsolete in days or hours.

Currently reading Disraeli and the Eastern Question (2011), by Miloš Kovic. It is an outstanding monograph.

Better to build up your database of historical and contemporary knowledge than to waste time in the angry scrum of ephemeral, angry commentary about horrible events still ongoing.

Taking the even longer view, for spiritual reading I have Lorenzo Scupoli, The Spiritual Combat (1589). There is no book of more immediate, contemporary relevance than this one.

Was most of the hospital explosion a Hamas and Gaza Health Ministry fabrication laundered by Western prestige media?

There is this very helpful twitter thread on the explosion:

https://twitter.com/AGHamilton29/status/1714561416298914276

And the Wall Street Journal:

"U.S., Experts Say Palestinian Militants Responsible for Gaza Hospital Blast

Analysts dispute claims that deadly explosion was due to Israeli strike; anger builds in Middle East"

https://www.wsj.com/

And of course there is anger, here are what headlines were like yesterday in world's most prestige media:
