Yeah, I read about this. Romania did manage to get a lot of Aromanians from Macedonia and the Pindus around that time, settling most of them in and around Constanta.
Love your stuff. As you probably realize, media models need innovation soon. I am "too poor" to actually subscribe to all of the podcasts and substacks and newsletters that I want to support. Like, maybe I can do $1 a month, but since unplugging cable and reallocating that $100 per month to support writers like you, I have blown rapidly past that amount. I only subscribe to two remaining print publications. We need a "bundle" of excellent Substackers that we can pick and choose from and pay a fee to compensate the members of that bundle fairly. I'd love to support you, ,I really would
Ha ha, I don’t want to pollute your substack, Curtis yarwin mentioned Salo and a croatian, so I had to investigate. Saw ozebedee, bingo. Breadcrumbs to here.
How is Zippy the Pinhead? I wish i still had THE_SKUNK posts, but the hard drive long ago crashed. The biggest a-ha moment for me was observing a long running jew/anti-jew debate going on ... all parties from JP Morgan IP addresses in NYC.
French philosophy did not dominate 20th Century philosophy and the authors you mention are known precisely for substituting obscurity and obfuscation for reasoned debate. If parts of the French Academy have maintained rigorous standards of evidence and argument it is despite the influence of Derrida and Foucault
Foucault and Derrida may not dominate American philosophy departments, but I think its fair to say their popular influence is dominant. Certainly more people read Foucault than Wittgenstein or Heidegger, though I too wish it were otherwise
When it comes to Green you absolutely can't ignore money.
Money is at the root , greed is at the root and branch and leaf of our current Imperialism.
And no, that's not how we rolled 1917-1989. Believe it or not, everyone from Wilson to Reagan believed in the cause, as did the people they hired.
Mercenary cashing in doesn't even start until Bush Daddy took the post Presidential consulting fees from the Kuwaitis. Sure businesses made money but they were behind the cause.
Did you know JP Morgan wanted after WW1 to forgive the Allies war debts?
True! [Adam Tooze - Deluge].
Wilson blocked this because he was angry at Italy.
Think of a world that isn't on the post war ww1 debt roller coaster to ww2.
The point about pharmacological knowledge is well made. It's remarkable what a casual topic of conversation it often is among Americans - "oh I took that for a few years, had these side effects" "oh I'm on this drug now. Have you ever taken this one?" People have more familiarity with brand name drugs than they do with recent history.
My great grandfather actually moved out to Utah to run a pasture herd in his youth. He did it for ten years before marrying and moving back to the Carolinas. Great article that gave me a little insight to his life then, he died before I was born.

"Become an anti-natalist" serving evil because being good is hard is not the answer of a serious person. For your own sake talk to a priest.

Thanks Michael. Bundling is gonna happen, 100%. I've already had this discussion with others.
I am late to substack but have wondered the same. Ps. Niccolo ... LF, Vodka Soda?
u did 9/11

Supplanter insists that you hand over the Skunk files from LF

Seconded

Great article as always, thank you
The French are all archetypal chic nihilists—Foucault and Houllebecq alike
Vive le resistance !
Maybe they can help...in any case any pushback is welcome.
The French need to stay French.
I don't even like them all that much, but they should stay French.

It continues to shock me.

If you want to deny these propagandists like the NYT their payday, Archive.vn is superb.
