Regarding Kendi, I’m reminded of how Stalin robbed trains to help pay for the revolution.

In any case, I hope he burns under the light. Couldn’t happen to a nicer guy.

I think he got really, really lucky in that liberals were looking for a new Black intellectual around which to rally. I don't think he's very bright, to be honest.

Intelligence is not a requirement to be an American race guru, in fact it may be an impediment, as the other great race guru of the BLM era, Nikole Hannah-Jones, is not particulary bright either.

The upscale white liberals who write, produce and direct all these race operas are not looking for intellectual edification (that's what the New Yorker is for), but for the purest most potent performance of black pain, which gives them a sharp S&M frisson of guilt and shame, while in the end providing absolution, or at least the knowledge that this group of white people is morally superior to those OTHER whites, who are the real guilty ones.

You don't keep "How to Be an Antiracist" on the coffee table to read it, but to use it as a talisman to ward off the bad vibes of bigotry.

Every generation of educated white liberals develops a fetish for black pain, it just manifests differently: abolition, the Blues, the Black Panthers, Hip Hop, BLM etc. It's an American tradition!

Expand full comment

Spot on! And of all these self-abasing absolutions, the most bizarre is white college kids getting off on the nasty, brutish, atonal, feral, violence-fetishizing thing called Rap.

I sorta miss the term "whiggers" which for some reason faded from the vocabulary.

i grew up in NYC in the 80s so I saw the birth of hip hop up close, and it was much more about parties and dancing than the antisocial freak show it's become—and it really did help my generation of whites, blacks and Latins to meet, mix and become friends. (it was a much more optimistic time)

but once the music was bought and sold by corporate America it became another way to feed the beast of American racial pathology, where black people could make $ by portraying a cartoon version of themselves as gangster outlaws, which really tickles the erogenous zones of bourgeois whites.

America will always be much more PT Barnum than Malcolm X, and there is no person place or thing that can't be turned into a commodity to be bought and sold. The sad part for me is that instead of actual remediation for the various pathologies of the ghetto, we get a Potemkin performance of these things, and serious human and social suffering becomes just another American combo of show biz and get-rich-quick con artistry.

I was a teenager in the 60s in the heyday of Tamla Motown. Those Holland Dozier songs are still a marvel to listen to 60 years later. I missed out on hip hop but I can't get with the (presumably later) kind of snarling over a backing track and calling it music. And somewhere I have a compilation that somebody produced of Rap boasting of rape, murder, slapping and kicking 'bitches' etc. It was a very big compilation.

Your comments bring to mind the commercialised titillation of MANDINGO (1975) or Kyle Onstott''s Falconhurst plantation-porn....or, for that matter, Tarantino's DJANGO UNCHAINED. It is all just fuel for people seeking thrills.

Stalin was probably more of a sincere revolutionary, and actually devoted much of what he and his gang stole to the revolution. We all actually got lucky that Kendi turned out to be both dumber and more selfish than Stalin was.

In regards to Sikhs in Canada they have a long history in British Columbia going back to the early 1900s. Especially in the forest industry and sawmills. In the Cariboo Chilcoton and Vancouver Island areas primarily.

Regarding India, it's kinda of crazy how it's still around. They had I think 8 secession attempts( one or 2 are still ongoing but the Indian government stomped them out pretty much), not to mention all the ethnic and religious conflicts. Most Intellectuals predicted that Pakistan would survive meanwhile India would collapse and balkanize. Even with the Khalistani movement, it's almost non-existent in India. All the recent Punjabis I've encountered don't even know what it is.

I'm very curious as to how big of a segment of Sikhs in Punjab support Khalistan.

Expand full comment

Afaik, it's a meme that no takes seriously. Most Indians including Sikhs are to intertwined with the rest of India to entertain secession. It's like America with WW1, the military made units with men from different states which basically broken the distinctions in regional cultures and homogenized people a bit. Same thing in India, Indians are moving out of their home regions to different parts of India, interacting with different ethnic groups in school and work, plus there's intermarriage starting to happen. All of these things most people don't really want to give up to have their own third world country. Even if you look back at the sikhs in the 80s, Bhindranwale was originally a plant of Indira Gandhi before he became a secessionist. Plus a lot of the soldiers involved in Operation Blue Star were Sikhs.

" If he would have been an American Pastor he would have been a Fundamentalist"

Funnily enough he rose to prominence on being anti-alcohol among other things. He was tapped on the shoulder by the Indian government since he was a very respected voice among sikhs, he was considered a Sant(Saint) after all. Basically they wanted him to steer Sikhs away from the Khalsitani stuff. Apparently he wasn't all that into secession till he amassed followers then he thought he could take on the Indian government.

There was an indian made documentary a while that talked about the whole thing and it's very fascinating, I'll link it if I find.

"The purpose of NATO is to keep the Germans down, the Russians out, and America in."

Working as designed. I believe Nic said if there's gonna be any change in Europe, France will lead the way? Hope I'm not putting words in your mouth. At least that's what I think. I sincerely believe language has a lot to do with it. English and German are both germanic in origin, most Germans in touristy areas speak English. They're getting blasted 24/7 with our agitprop. Harder to make inroads in France, ot's a tougher barrier.

The thing about Kendi is that 43 million dollars, honestly, is a drop in the bucket. Liberal Patronage is obvious, but it's an issue VERY few seem to talk about. "Get woke go broke." Not really, at all. The woke pay up. It's counterproductive to think otherwise

The racist Anti-racist grift:

One of the most widespread misconceptions in liberal society - both progressive and conservative - is the idea that Antiracism at least BEGAN with good intentions Not so. Identity victimhood cults never begin with good intentions. They begin with resentfulness, self-pity and more-virtuous/sophisticated-than-thou vanities. It is absolutely vital that any anti-progressive push-back finally gets that through its collective head. The hugely mistaken idea that progressivism is nice-and-kind-but-naive-and-unrealistic is what has allowed it to run rings around politicians, the media and the rest of us. https://grahamcunningham.substack.com/p/invasion-of-the-virtue-signallers

1. Re: Kendi - if the establishment is good at nothing else, it is very good at determining whom to co-opt, whom to buy off, whom to neutralize, whom to ignore.

Whatever Kendi will be doing, it won't harm the establishment or change relationships or the way the economic pie is sliced. He is safely bought off, and his benefactors can claim the payouts as a tax writeoff.

2. Of course Germany is now an American puppet state, and sets about destroying civil liberties and persecuting those not sufficiently slavish. What is anyone going to do about it?

I hate porn, but there is no permanent way to remove it from the internet. Neither specific videos nor the concept as a whole. Its effects on society are only beginning to be discovered.

I’d understand if you deleted this Niccolo:

https://nypost.com/2023/05/09/family-says-6-year-old-was-forced-to-perform-sex-act-at-school/amp/

That is clearly the result of porn.

But there is no resistance against it. Even highly religious people, from American Christians to Pakistani Muslims, consume porn at alarming rates while speaking out against it. It’s going to get much worse before it gets better.

All we can do is look out for our own children.

Expand full comment

This is a good point, however we know that big tech companies and the government are particularly effective at censoring certain things. If that's the case they should be doing what their doing to say a guy posting memes on twitter to porn sites. Plus even tho you can't eradicate porn, we basically took it from the fringes of society and made it a cultural institution. Porn should be something ppl are ashamed to bring up in any context except to shit on it. We shouldn't have ppl treating pornstars like celebrities or women thinking that Onlyfans is just another career path. All of that won't get rid of porn but at least create some normalcy and allow people to get away from it if they chose too

Expand full comment

I agree wholeheartedly, but I don’t think it is changing anytime soon in America. Having drag queens twerk in front of children is merely “controversial” these days. We are far far away from the socially demonizing porn.

The destruction and division caused by porn benefits the state; as long as the state is intact, it will continue to promote pornography

The Sikh nationalists aren't alone. Canadian Croat nationalists played an important role in starting the Yugoslav conflict, Canadian Ukrainian nationalists seeded the intolerance that brought Ukraine war. And if I remember well Tamil nationalists from Canada played an important role in the uprising in Sri Lanka.

In my opinion such diaspora nationalism is not innocent. This the more so as it is well known that the American secret services are often fueling it.

The thing that I am most proud of in my life is being part of the Canadian-Croatian diaspora that helped take down the communist dictatorship known as Yugoslavia.

I believe diaspora's should be very reticent in promoting causes in their countries of origin. They no longer live there. Their image of the "enemy" tends to be a caricature. They are incapable of dialogue. Living far away they often underestimate how disastrous war can be. And with their money thanks to living in a rich country their influence tends to be disproportional.

BTW: in what is happening now in Armenia/Nagorno Karabach there is major diaspora influence too. It would be nice if you could provide an analysis of that aspect.

The Duran podcast on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict ended up talking about how diasporas are often very outspoken about issues in their homelands but sometimes don’t quite understand what is happening on the ground there because national identity can result in seeing things in an oversimplify way. I am thinking of my former friend of Ukrainian descent who stopped talking to me because of my opposition to the Ukrainian war....of course this cuts both ways since one of the many reasons why I oppose the war is because I have family in Hungary (I am first gen and speak Hungarian). It’s kind of tricky because the MSM is so very pro western and neoliberal that they often doesn’t give an accurate picture of a foreign situation or leader...obv I am thinking of Orban.
