Official confirmation has yet to arrive, but by the looks of it both Yevgeny Prigozhin and Dmitry Utkin have been killed in the crash of a private jet over Tver Region, en route from Moscow to St. Petersburg.
Recall that Utkin is credited with founding the Wagner Group, and Prigozhin as being the effective CEO of the private military contractor.
It’s still too early to know exactly how the private jet was downed, but both were on the passenger list and are assumed dead. It’s far, far too early to know who took out the plane, but that is what open threads like this are all about.
