I really enjoyed the first Book club entry as someone whose only information on Russia had been filtered through US Media and pro-laisses faire advocates pointing to the successes of the 90s in Russia. I am in need of a copy of this book though.
I subscribed just for this announcement. While America hasn’t yet quite gotten to the level of hyper poloralization that Spain went under in the 1930’s, it might get there in the next 10 years if nothing changes.

Besides spain the other country to study is Ireland/Northern Ireland - where Democracy most certainly could not come to terms.

Spain went on for centuries under the dead hand of the Bourbons and the last Hapsburg's weren't exactly inspiring, in spain anyway.
