Open Thread #5 - Reader Input Request
Building a Sensible Substack For a Better and Brighter Tomorrow
This Substack continues to build a bigger and larger readership, but many of you remain quiet! This is okay, as participatory commentary is always the preserve of a small percentage of the overall readership of any site. Many of you choose to reply to me/contact me through email, and this is also fine by me. I do my best to reply as quickly as possible, unless there is a complex or time consuming request being made.
I am coming up to the end of the “My Political Journey” series, and it has been a wild success. I’ve garnered a lot of positive feedback, so thank you all. I have one piece left in the Italian travelogue series, but I think I will continue the series by covering other places that I am visiting. These might be shorter (or longer) pieces. We will see.
On that note, I will be doing a lot of travelling over the next few weeks starting next week. I will do my best to maintain posting, but I might miss one or two days here and there due to other commitments that take me to these places. Please be patient with me.
Input Request
The “My Political Journey” series came about simply due to the request of a subscriber to this Substack. It’s turned out rather well. So I would humbly like to ask my dear readers what else they would like to see me write about. I have many arcane and very niche interests that might not be interesting to you. You may feel that I write about some subjects better than others.
So please tell me in the comments below what you would like to see my write about.
And if you haven’t already, please consider subscribing to my Substack. There is a lot of content behind the paywall for your reading pleasure. The pace of paying subscriptions continues to increase. This is a sign of confidence and appreciation in what I have to deliver to all of you.
There are more interviews in the works, hopefully with the next one coming out later next week. If you have recommendations on who to interview, please share them here as well. The only rule is that they cannot be anonymous people.
Kudos
Glenn Greenwald gave me a very nice shoutout recently.

Feel free to use this thread as an open thread as well, to bring up anything on your mind or related to what gets discussed here in general.

Many have mentioned interviews already. But the reason your interviews are so engaging is that you're actually creating a space for dialogue between a wide array of political positions . Your blog is a refreshing middle ground in the FOX-CNN dichotomy. I'd even go as far to say that constraining you in the right-wing populist quadrant is unfair, considering the breadth of your political discourse and experience, as described by The Journey. I'm a 22 year old relatively left-leaning student who discovered you and reads your material voraciously because I think identity politics are moral and societal poison, but the only people who shared my position in the popular space were bleach drinking Q-anon grand wizards. But low and behold someone who was giving an honest and intelligent exposition on the danger of these ideas, a guy I can imagine drinking a beer with, a normal down to earth real person. So find as many challenging and interesting people to interview, stay true to your no BS approach to politics, and of course never be afraid to challenge or offend your base - most of us come for that, otherwise we'd be reading Unz.
On an early BAPcast appearance you went into some detail on the history of AIDS that was very interesting. It struck me in a “what else have they been lying to me about” way. Would be an interesting poast.
