It was an excellent, very excellent, interview! As a reader of your Substack, it was probably easier for me to follow than someone who is not familiar with your deep analyses. Still, I intend to listen to it again (and maybe take notes lol) to understand it all.
A voice! Finally! Although I was a bit disappointed, as I had imagined you wearing a jaunty cap encircled with smoke from dozens of Gauloises, yet you sound like...a Canadian.
There's no "correct" position to take on the war. If you think US foreign policy is excessively militarist, and Ukraine decided to be a pawn. That western media has whitewashed the coutnry's past and turned the war into a struggle over good and evil as they are want to do with every conflict they engage in. And you are sick and tired of the sanctimony and hypocrisy. Hoping NATO gets a black eye is not unreasonable. Nobody has to care about Ukraine, just as no one really cared about Iraq Libya Syria etc or whether sovereingty is being violated. They brought it upon themselves, to bad for being foolish.
I'm very much put off by that extremely gay disclaimer at the beginning of that post, sorry. Did 'Public' make the same disclaimer when anyone came on to talk about the War in Iraq? Whenever anyone mentioned Obama, Bush, Tony Blair, or Clinton? No, I bet he didn't. I'm not Russian, but he should treat his audience and potential audience like adults with a functioning brain, not some faggot children on twitter.
Finally got a chance to listen. Your voice has a tremendously musical quality. Your phrasing, diction, and rhythm are very satisfying to my filter-everything-through-music ears.
Great podcast. It is fascinating to learn about this history and see the combination of US “grand strategy” (to the extend we have one) and sometimes almost brilliant foreign policy maneuvers, in conjunction with seemingly limitless naive idealism and incompetence. Truly a strange concoction of contradictions. That’s America for you I guess.
I would definitely listen to more of this and things like it.
Thanks oil and gas (still a lot of buyers by the West, or, some tricky, Russia’s oil & gas buy by India, and then the West buy from India), Russia keep stay at war. Now Day-466 War (Kyiv 3.11am / DC 8.11pm) and still counting.

Is it possible for the paypigs to your substack to get a full version of the podcast ep?
2nd podcast (of 3) that have a paywall that you have been on...These people know you are a hot commodity!

In a sane world you would be making regular appearances on PBS NewsHour or some other ostensibly serious nightly news program. FbF podcast when?

Congrats on your podcast! Shellenberger is terrific.

Great! But will we be able to raise the 🇺🇸 Debt Ceiling in Time to save the world 🌎? 😱
🤣
Congrats

How is the book club typically? Whole book by June 12th or some of it?
