I Took Pity on These Two Women and Appeared on the Red Scare Podcast
They made me talk about AIDS for 90 minutes!
I was in Manhattan this past week hanging out with both Anna and Dasha of the infamous Red Scare Podcast. They begged me to do their show (Dasha turned on her fake actress tears), pleading with me, promising me all sorts of things that I knew that they couldn’t deliver. I took pity on them and they decided to turn the tables on me by forcing me to talk about AIDS for the first 90 minutes!
You can click here for the show if you want to listen to me completely dulled out and lulled into a sense of complacency by their voices (described in professional circles as ‘Human Xanax’). I wanted to chimp out, but couldn’t! Their voices totally neutralized me!
We discuss the early days of HIV/AIDS, women (I think), art, why Madonna was the worst woman of the 20th century, Turbo America, and a whole bunch of other things thanks to the digressions we went on powered by a few bottles of wine.
Anna is very much a cultural critic, and Dasha is both an actress and director, best known for her recurring character ‘Comfry’ on Season 3 of HBO’s Succession.
You might enjoy it.

I've attempted to listen to that show a couple times but the voices always made me tap out after a few minutes. Also it is the most upper-middle class thing I've ever experienced in my life.
